Called the “Great Psychagogue”, the “Napoleon of the Intangible”, the “Master of Psychognosis”, and “Conqueror of the Invisible”; Sar Dubnotal was a character ahead of his time, and quite different from his fellow pulp heroes of the early 1900’s.
His enemies tended to be more supernatural and occult-based than just simple crimelords.
Despite his Eastern appearance, and stylish “Arab” attire, Dubnotal is in fact a man from the West who had grown up in Mumbai, learning the mystic arts and paranormal abilities from various Hindu Yogis and other experts. He dealt with many supernatural cases, be it ghosts, vampires, and other bizarre/unexplainable phenomenon. He even tackled the “Jack the Ripper” case.
Sadly, his original adventures only lasted twenty issues. But he’s become a popular fixture in stories since, such as the “Tales of the Shadowmen” books.
