An outbreak of nuclear war between the American and Chinese moon bases has irradiated Earth and caused widespread panic. Also, as a result of nuclear fallout a mysterious disease is causing hysteria and madness, and begins to takeover the city Schreck lives in. The insane are led by a man named Lee who is looking to seduce Schreck’s wife, Paula. One night while Schreck and Paula lay in bed a combination of what the newspapers deem “Lunar Lunacy” and Lee’s insane influence on Paula takes hold and convinces her to attack her husband. Paula only succeeds in lopping off Schreck’s right hand with a meat clever before he cauterizes it in a fire and manages to escape.
Schreck builds a cap to replace his right hand with a slot for interchangeable tools such as a pen, spoon, and even a knife.
