His father Cerimul, a Kandorian Council member, failed to unite Kandor in peace and Ceritak escaped to Earth. Unable to communicate with the people of Earth, he was thought to be a menace. After meeting with Superman it is discovered to be a misunderstanding and Ceritak becomes an ally, helping to take down Parasite, Cyborg and Deathtrap. He befriends Ashbury Armstrong and is later captured and experimented on by Lex Luthor. He finally reconciles with his father and disappears leaving only an indecipherable note for his Earth friends. Scorn has not been seen since.
