Agent Scott Adsit debuted in the first issue of Marvel NOW! relaunched Deadpool series. His name and physical appearance are based on those of a real-life stand-up comedian Scott Adsit who is a close friend of series’ writers Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan.

While working with Preston and Deadpool, Adsit dealt with many threats, such as betrayal from within, multiple attacks from ULTIMATUM, murderous ex-Presidents and assassins rampaging through the streets of New York.

When investigating the murder of the Watcher, an explosion of energy caught Adsit in a field of debris. His right eye was severely injured.. He saw the fate of Deadpool’s parents; they were killed by Deadpool. The mercenary was not acting in his right mind; he was being controlled by Butler, a scientist who had influenced Deadpool for years

At one time, a hacker stole the personal information of all working SHIELD agents. The hacker had crisis of conscience and tried to leave with the Avenger Hawkeye. Adsit’s friends Deadshot and Preston’s family became mixed up with the situation; despite this Adsit was assigned to the situation in a professional capacity. The information was later secured. .

Adsit’s life with Deadpool led to his making many new friends, which included Ellie, Deadpool’s daughter; the ghost of Benjamin Franklin and Michael, a Scottish wizard.

As a friend of Deadpool, Adsit was targeted for assassination by a re-organized ULTIMATUM. He killed the team sent after him but was severely wounded himself.

Michael later perished defending Earth from an evil cult that hated all magic. Benjamin Franklin willing moved onto the after life.

Adsit suffered a severe beating when Deadpool was overtaken by the mind of Madcap. That entity had, long ago, spent time inside Deadpool’s mind and had been driven even further inside. Madcap’s plan involved hurting and or killing all of Deadpool’s friends.

As seen in ‘All New Guardians of The Galaxy’ #5 Scott Adsit is now part of the space-faring ‘Nova’ program.

Scott has discovered that something is trying to tear apart the Nova Corps from the inside. He has recruited the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with their new member Ant-Man, to discover what, exactly, is going on.
