The movie script had Sea-Boy “rescuing a woman from a pirate ship and defending his home against strange sea beasts”. The actual story had more to do with Garth feeling resentful at having to do all the hard work and Barry getting most of fame for the film. Â

Garth decided to run away but in his fury fell into a net and was trapped. An old mine, left-over from World War II was approaching and Garth was almost killed. Barry came to Garth’s rescue and managed to save his co-star. The two boys befriended each other, resolving to teach each other bettwer acting and swimming.
