Septimius Severus

Septimius Severus, born April 11, 146 in Leptis Magna (now Libya) and died February 4, 211 in Eboracum (Brittany, now York, England) is a Roman emperor, who reigned from 193 to 211.

With him came power of the provincials of non-Roman ancestry and the Severus dynasty of which he is the eponymous figure. Along with Macrinus, he is one of the two emperors born in the province of Africa.
