Shades was a Dominican criminal that Luke Cage had once befriended while incarcerated. He was killed during an explosion caused by Bullseye, after attempting to turn his life around. Shades is the father of Power Man and frequent partner of Comanche.
Creation
Shades was created by Archie Goodwin and George Tuska in 1972 and first appeared in Hero For Hire #1.
