According to the novel Ayesha (1905): “She never dies. She changes, that is all. As the wind blows ⦠so she comes and goes, ⦠on the earth, or beyond it …”
A series featuring Ayesha called The Eternal Woman and penciled by Guido Buzzelli was published in 1975-76 on Italian comics magazine Corriere dei Ragazzi. In this series Ayesha is a black-skinned immortal African queen.
