Major Story Arcs
When Whisky Jill rides into town the sheriff is relieved – Jill is the only person that can help deliver a baby since the trained midwife is currently drunk. Despite Jill’s fears that the Marshall will catch up to her, Sheriff Hills is able to convince her to take the job. On the way to the woman in labor, however, Jill gets sidetracked into singing and dancing for the local miners in the saloon. The sheriff kindly reminds her of her chore and accompanies her to the expectant couple. Sheriff Hills takes the father, John, outside to let Jill do her work.
Outside, the sheriff does his best to comfort John despite the painful noises coming from inside. He is shocked to see the Marshall coming down the street and tries to warn Jill. He then tries to stick up for her by drawing his gun but it is shot out of his hand before it can be drawn. He then has to restrain John when Jill rushes from the house with a bundle in her arms to use as leverage against the Marshall. When all is said and done, Sheriff Hills is elated that the bundle in Jill’s arms was nothing more than an old vase. He finds Jill’s friend Rod McCloud and the two wait to see if Jill will come back from being chased into the mountains by the Marshall. Some townspeople want to help Jill by following but the sheriff explains that nobody comes back from Pirate Rock except for Jill, as that is Jill’s home.
Jill eventually returns and the Sheriff welcomes her back heartily. He gets some supplies gathered from the townspeople and gives them to Jill and Rod as they head out on another adventure.
