Background:

Attempting to put an end to a civil war on Tumbla IV, Shingo Wol’sÂ intervention only caused theÂ two factionsÂ to turn on him. Â Soon, the Green Lantern was dying asÂ his enemies overcame him in a twenty hour battle. Â As he was dying, he hallucinated that suddenly his powerÂ ring could overcome its yellow impurity and he was winning the fight. Â Unfortunately, this was not the case. As Shingo Wol died, his power ring’s charged depleted, and hisÂ enemies simply turned and walked away. Â Shingo Wol is memorialized in the Crypts of Oa alongside other fallen members of the Green Lantern Corps.
