History
Shiryu was known to be a bloodthirsty warden who worked alongside Magellan in Impel Down. After he was discovered to be abusing his powers and murdering prisoners without cause, he was arrested and imprisoned in Level 6 of Impel Down.
Impel Down Arc
Magellan reluctantly released Shiryu to aid in their efforts to combat the intrusion due to the presence of both Monkey D. Luffy‘s party as well as the Blackbeard Pirates. While Shiryu initially ignored Blackbeard‘s offer for him to join his crew, he later returned with an antidote to save the Blackbeard Pirates after their defeat at the hands of Magellan and his poison. Not wanting to be sentenced to death, he chose to join Blackbeard instead and broke out of Impel Down together with new allies recruited from the prison.
Marineford War Arc
Shiryu was with the Blackbeard Pirates as they made a surprise appearance, attacking and killing Whitebeard and disrupting the war. He also aided Blackbeard in stealing Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit ability. After the appearance of Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates, he left together with the Blackbeard Pirates.
Wano Country Arc
After Absalom arrived on Blackbeard’s island Beehive, Shiryu managed to kill him and gain his Devil Fruit ability from the Suke Suke no Mi. After a few days, Gecko Moria showed up and started launching an attack. Shiryu revealed himself from his invisibility and impaled Moria from behind.
Powers
As Impel Down’s previous Head Jailer, he was known to be equal to Magellan himself in battle prowess, being able to enforce prison rules against the toughest prisoners. Now, he is the vice-captain to an Emperor and is considered to be one of the most dangerous pirates in the ocean.
Swordsmanship
While he has not faced off against any notable opponents, Shiryu is renown for his skill with his sword – an unknown-grade Meito known as Raiu. He has been shown to be able to cut down enemies with great speed and precision.
Devil Fruit
After stealing the abilities of the Suke Suke no Mi from Absalom, he now has the ability to turn completely invisible and can attack enemies by surprise.
Stealth
Even prior to gaining the Devil Fruit, Shiryu has displayed a high level of stealth ability. He was able to infiltrate and sneak through Impel Down and its security systems virtually undetected by anyone.
