Arcade hired Shortfuse and several other villains that consisted of Link, Sadista, Mister Nice and Barb to attack Northstar in New Orleans to test out his physical and mental limits. The group has a battered Northstar in their clutches but the mutant speedster would fight back. Shortfuse begins to power up his energy gauntlets when Northstar tosses Link into him. Shortfuse recovers and comes after Northstar but his legs get tangled up by the leash from Sadista’s canines and falls on his face. Northstar would get some assistance from Alpha Flight teammate Heather Hudson as Guardian. Majority of the group is taken down when Shortfuse appears behind Northstar. Shortfuse is taken out when Northstar strikes him several times with his superhuman speed.
Creation
Shortfuse was created by Simon Furman and Dario Carrasco Jr in 1994 and first appeared in Northstar # 3.
Powers & Abilities
Shortfuse has a built in timer in his chest that power up his gauntlets which allow him to fire blasts of energy or concussive force.
