Shujinko

Shujinko was just a young boy dreaming on competing in the Mortal Kombat tournament and beating Shang Tsung. As a child he idolized the older Kung Lao and started training under master Bo’ Rai Cho of Outworld. Once he completes his first set of training at Master Bo’ Rai Cho’s academy he encounters a floating orb spirit calling himself Damashi. Damashi tells Shujinko he was sent from the Elder God’s to give Shujinko a quest to find the six kamidogu scattered throughout the realms to save Earth Realm from evil. Shujinko gains the ability to copy the powers of the other fighters he encounters along the way as well. 
 
During his quest he encounters many of the fighters in the Mortal Kombat tournament such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jax and others aging into an adult when stepping into a giant stream to grab one of the Kamidogu pieces. His trip takes him to Order World where he trains under Hotaru but is soon arrested due to him breaking their strict curfew law. He is imprisoned for roughly forty years until Dairou kills the guards guarding his cell and releases him. 
 
After escaping from Order Realm, Shujinko finally collects the six kamidogu but before he can place the last piece on the altar Scorpion appears before him and says that he is the Champion of the Elder Gods and attacks Shujinko. Shujinko however defeats Scorpion and places the final piece on the altar only to discover Damashi had tricked him all along. Damashi was really the spirit of the Dragon king Onaga and had tricked Shujinko into collecting the six Kamidogu to bring him back to life. The Dragon King than laid waste to the forces of Earth making Shujinko go after the Dragon King, taking responsibility for unleashing the evil on Earth. Shujinko’s plan is to kill the Dragon King because he sees himself as the only one capable of doing so
