In his first appearance, Sir Boltyn attempts to win the hand of Lady Marion in a jousting competition. This arrangement would please Prince John and improve the prince’s plan to steal the throne from his brother, King Richard the Lion Hearted. Before the competition is finished, The Green Falcon shows up and bests Sir Boltyn, thus winning the day.
