Sirhan Sirhan

Sirhan Sirhan, born March 19, 1944 in Jerusalem, is a Palestinian Christian of Jordanian nationality found guilty of the assassination of United States Senator Robert Francis Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on June 5, 1968. Sentenced to die in the gas chamber of San Quentin State Prison, his sentence was eventually commuted to life imprisonment by the retroactive effect of the California Supreme Court’s decision in California v. Anderson. He is serving this sentence at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Center in San Diego County.
