Samsbury Winthrow was born to Fletcher and Ophelia Winthrow. They learn from the time he was a toddler that Sam could slip out out of almost anyone’s grasp. As he grew up, he became more full of himself being unable to be caught. He became a petty criminal and later created a suit and a type of liquid that allowed him to slide at great speeds with his natural talents. Intending to become rich, he started snatching diamonds, jewelry and other expensive items to sell off. He eventually ran into J2 at a mall where Slippery Sam was stealing from various shoppers. J2 was unable to touch him until Sam got near the water fountain. He caused the fountain to spill on Slippery Sam keeping him in one spot allowing J2 to knock him across the mall with one punch. Having almost all his bones broken, Sam slowly recovered in prison, hoping to return to his life of crime. Â Â
