Creation
An alien creature made into a pet (of sorts). The species of Xanthian Boulder Crushers have a flute-like piping in which it is theorized that they can be controlled (one such device was attempted by the Kymellians, though it’s success is unknown).
Major Story Arcs
The Collector, an alien zookeeper, comes to Earth to capture Marrina so as to be one of his exhibits. She is saved capture by Spider-Man and Alpha Flight, but in the Collector’s retreat he leaves behind a huge snake-like creature known as the Xanthian Boulder Crusher. This particular Boulder Crusher’s name is Snake Eyes. As is the case with all Boulder Crushers, Snake Eyes has the ability to render its victims unconscious with its gaze. He is also immune to the effects of his gaze.

Snake Eyes is snagged by a fishing vessel off the coast of Maine. Awakened, he attacks the ship but is lulled into his own sleep by a foghorn. He is later awakened at an aquarium by the toot of an oboe by Katie Power. The Boulder Crusher is forcibly returned to the ocean by the Power Pack and must be further hunted to prevent another disaster. Marrina joins the hunt and Snake Eyes is eventually locked into a ship’s hull and sent to hibernate in the arctic ices.
