Sonar was one of the teenagers brought to join the Legion of the Super Heroes by the United Planets. However her lack of useful powers resulted in her quick rejection by Legion leader Lightning Lad. However following this her and the other teenagers quickly formed the United Planets Young Heroes, although this quickly met with disastrous results.
