Sonny Tuckson

Sonny Tuckson

With his companions Buck Danny and Jerry Tumbler, Sonny Tuckson is one of the three main characters of the Buck Danny comic book which appeared in the weekly Spirou.

First named “Sony” with a single “n” then renamed “Sonny” which also means “son”, Tuckson is a soldier and an airplane pilot. He brings a humorous touch to the series.

In a realistic series dealing with serious if not dramatic themes, he is a sort of entertaining stooge, intended to lighten the mood. Complexed by his small size which sets off against him the insults of “dwarf” or “dwarf” and his hair color, readily angry and easily carried away, Sonny is “small, red-haired, bawling”. Son of a hot dog merchant, from a family originally from Ireland and born in Texas, of which he keeps a “terrible accent”, he is frequently hungry and greedy greedy. Unrepentant blunderer, it is on him that all the little miseries fall. In most of the albums in the series, the script preamble puts him in a ridiculous, grotesque, or childish situation.
