Jubilation Lee’s parents were killed by mutant-hunting Sentinels, forcing the young mutant into hiding in New Gotham’s largest shopping mall. While there, she tripped across a trap set for Dark Claw. Although the Clawed Crusader had escaped, he was in rough shape and Jubilation’s mutant light show helped him to get away to safety. Impressed by her attitude and abilities, Dark Claw took the young girl under his wing. She then became his sidekick, known as Sparrow.
