Origin

Jia Jing was one of the first mutants to develop powers after Avengers vs X-men. Then she enrolled to the Jean Grey Institute, decided to become one of the greatest X-men bringing honor to her family and homeland, and believing that if she didn’t achieve that, it would bring shame to her family.

Creation

Jia Jing was created by Jason Aaron and Adam Kubert and first appeared in Avengers Vs. X-Men #12 (2012).

She was one of the students that were brought to a excursion to the Savage Land by Wolverine. During the travel, Wolverine gave Jia Jing a mutant codename, in honor of his favorite x-men, and a profile about that x-men, and he told her to relax. Jia Jing accepted honored the codename of Sprite, and decided to follow the instructions of her headmaster, although she was still decided to become a great X-men. During the trip she flirted with Genesis as she pinched his ass and found liberating swearing.

When Dog Logan gave weapons to the students to defend themselves in the Savage Land, Jia Jing was against them, saying that they didn’t bring honor and were shameful. She nearly ended in a fight against Shark-Girl, who planned to leave the rest of her classmates in the Savage Land, but the fight was stopped by Eye Boy, who thanks to his powers revealed that Jia Jing is constantly craving approval. Sprite, like the rest of her classmates joined against Dog Logan, but before they could fight him, they were stopped by Wolverine and Dog took the chance to teleport after being saved by Quentin Quire. All the students, except Glob Herman returned safe and sound to the Institute.

Powers and abilities

Jia Jing manifested her mutant powers after Avenger vs X-men. She has manifested the following powers.

  • Fairy wings that allow her to fly.
  • A skin made of rock that protects her from physical harm and increases her strength. She can also morph her body but for the moment she can make her fists bigger, which increases her strength.
