Sprocket aka Amelia Barnhardt was a former mercenary who was friends with the New Warriors pilot Andrew Chord. She served as the New Warriors pilot after Chord attempted suicide. Back in her mercenary days she had a one night stand with Joshua Clendendon the man who would one day become the villain Cardinal. Their daughter Valerie never knew her father and didn’t get along with her mother. Valeria joined the United States Air Force but was kicked out after she attacked commanding officer after a sexual assault. Valerie was later approached to join the government’s Redeemers project where she took the codename Meteorite and fought the Thunderbolts. Sprocket would later visit Cardinal in jail to tell him about their daughter’ death at the hands of the villain Graviton.
