Stanley is a dog and he’s from another country. All the other regulars are usually full of prejudices against Stanley even though he’s the only one of them holding a steady job.
When the cartoon was still in black/white Stanley would always be depicted with diagonal black lines which stayed with him when the cartoon was colored.
