Esteban,”Stevie” Beach gained his powers and became Stat after he was caught in a flood of ionic energy that Wonder Man had inadvertently released when his powers flared out of control. He was only one of eight individuals that gained powers in this manner, including his sister, Ginger Beach (Snap). All eight of these individuals would join forces and become the team known as the Crazy 8.

Stat has the power to manipulate portions of the electromagnetic spectrum allowing him to create up to six duplicates of himself and anything he is currently holding.

He has only demonstrated the ability to make up to six dupes of himself.
