Steven (surname unknown) was one of the four members of the crew of the Excalibur space shuttle. The younger member of the team, Steve was more close to Jim Garrison, the pilot.
However, when the experimental contaiments of kryptonite were broken, the team was exposed to cosmics radiation than tranformed them. In the case of Steve, his body was destroyed, but his mind survived as a being of pure coherent radiation. However such conditon was not stable and Steve mind deteriorated fast.
When Superman intervene to investigate, Steve attacked him accidentally. Scared, Steve intensified his attacks and Superman contained him in a metallic cocoon. Depiste the misunderstanding was overcomed, the damaged mind of Steve blamed Superman.With his radiations levels more higher than ever, Steve scaped tospace where he disipated his energy in the sun, apparentelly killing himself.
Steve was a homage to Johnny Storm, the Human Torch member version of the Fantastic Four.
