He was probably the best known Confederate General after Robert E. Lee. Military historians think quite highly of Stonewall Jackson as a military tactician. He was accidentally shot by his own forces. He died on May 10, 1863 at the age of 39 and is buried at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery in Lexington, Virginia.
