Biography (film)
Taryn White was one of the teenagers in Westin Hills mental facility who was being stalked by Freddy Krueger. Taryn was severely addicted to heroin and prostituted herself to interns for a fix. It is unknown if she had always had drug problems or had turned to them as a way of dealing with her nightmares. She has a very sarcastic, sullen personality and seems rather disliked by fellow patient Kincaid. She was apparently a very big heavy metal fan.
In her dreams, Taryn is a switchblade wielding street punk with a giant Mohawk that she describes as “Beautiful and bad”. In this form she behaves very vivaciously, in contrast to her sullen personality in the real world. It is possible that this was what she was like before the drugs.
In her “beautiful and bad’ persona she managed to go a round with Freddy Krueger and even stab him twice, but Krueger preyed on her fear of the drugs by making her track marks come to life, then, turning his blades on his glove into syringes, he injected her with so much heroin she died instantly.
Taryn’s spirit was supposed to appear in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare along with Kincaid and Joey, but was cut from the final draft. In the unused script, she is addressed as “Blade Cop” and can dismember and reattach herself.
Comics
Taryn appears in MAD #274‘s parody of Dream Warriors, where in a parody of her death scene, she is saved from being injected with drugs by a group of addicts who offer to buy heroin from Freddy.
In Innovation’s Nightmares on Elm Street series Taryn appears as a “nurse” when being controlled by Freddy, then later rejoins her fellow Dream Warriors. Her outfit is much skimpier than it is in the film.
In Wildstorm’s Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash: The Nightmare Warriors series, she is seen as a ghost, fighting the Deadites.
