Arnold Stuart Kaminsky was the head of the scientific division of Project:Survival. He was formerly employed in the nuclear defense program of the United States and had developed a paranoid fear of war. He agreed with the other members that the war was inevitable but also secretly believed that it could start any minute now. Rushing to the Project’s completion, Kaminsky convinced guards loyal to him to first steal nuclear missiles from the United States Army and then capture all other members of their Inner Council.
He attempted to launch all missiles at once to provide propulsion for their spaceship. Human Torch managed to disarm all but one of them. The minor explosion of that one injured Kaminsky. He was then taken away by representatives of the military.
