The man who became The Catman was a mentally deranged and believed himself to be a cat .Used by Dr.Francis (who was conning his patients to sign over their life saving to him )the Catman would kill the Doctors patients and then the doctor would collect the life insurance.This plot was uncovered by The Human Torch and Toro who tracked catman to the mental institue and tried to capture them both.Fearing to be taken to jail the Doctor told them he had a bomb in the building .Catman tried to save his master but accidently knocked them both into a harbor .Catman drowned but the Doctor was rescued and arrested .
