The Deathless Brain of Java was once a man named Hidero Okado, a Japanese commander whose body was destroyed when an American Air Force Commander opened fire on an unknown Japanese location. His brain was removed from his body and placed into a jar where it was then joined by a machine. The Deathless Brain became an enemy of The Flying Dutchman.

The Liberty Brigade

The Deathless Brain is given a new lease on life in the a pages of The Liberty Brigade. In his new retcon origin story, Hidero Okado was a Japanese scientist whose mind was transplanted into a machine following his death. With the help of military scientists, he was given a new ease on his “life.” He became known as The Deathless Brain and is one of Japan’s most dangerous commanders during World War II. He constantly plots to destroy the U.S.A. Thankfully The Flying Dutchman and The Unknown Soldier have thwarted his attempts.

Sometime later, The Deathless Brain became a member of Adolf Hitler‘s Todesherren (“Death Lords”) along with The Claw, The Great Question, and Misery. It was The Deathless Brain who developed the plan to capture Freedom’s Flame and many other American superheroes, duplicate their superpowers for The Axis Powers, and then the assassination of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The Deathless Brain, along with the rest of the Death Lords, was held up in Misery’s mountain stronghold to avoid capture by The Liberty Brigade. He fought against Catman and his sidekick Kitten, and then was destroyed by TNT Todd.
