The Gorgon is Gamor, a member of a lost race of people who became the inspiration for Medusa and the Gorgons of mythology.
Hidden for centuries they are discovered by explorers led by Revor who eventually has a relationship with Gamor.
Taking her into the wider world of humans. She at first finds herself blinded by the snowfields they must pass through, eventually, her vision and abilities return and they must deal with various scientists who want to study her, criminals who want to exploit her, and people consumed by fear of her, thus complicating the life of the worlds only at large Gorgon.
