Little is known about the Jackal, aside from the fact that he is a lycanthrope with the appearance and abilities of a wild dog. He believes himself to be a hero, killing any criminal he catches with no remorse, as he considers himself to be the judge, jury and executioner of the Metropolis underworld. His homicidal “heroics” often put him at odds with Superman.
