Creation
John King was created by writers Andrew Kreisberg and Ben Sokolowski and artist Daniel Sampere, and seems to be a play off Robin Hood’s enemy King John.

John King is an industrialist and the third richest man in America behind Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor, he managed to create a huge following of “subjects” through a combination of bribery, blackmail, and possibly torture. He is Mia Dearden’s step-father, but she witnessed him murder her mother and ran away, eventually being saved by Green Arrow, King now wants Green Arrow dead and he already knows that he is Oliver Queen. During a failed attempt on Oliver’s life, Kings men are able to kidnap both Mia and Ollie’s girlfriend/business manager.
