The King in Yellow

Hastur was the king of a world of the Multiverse, the Kingdom of Ythill, and lived in his palace in the prosperous capital called Carcosa. He and his people waged war against the Great Old Ones when they came to Ythill during their quest to conquer the multiverse. The gods were strong, but also was Ythill’s science, and the clash between the two destabilized the very universe, making it to sink in the Non-where. Eventually the Great Old Ones were forced to leave the multiverse without being able to come back, but the capital was gone, and so were Hastur and his soldiers, corrupted by Nyarlathotep‘s poison and condemned to slip in the verge between existence and not existence. But before that, Nyarlathotep offered him to become his herald and, in exchange for that, he would have stopped time in the palace of Yhtill, preventing it to disappear alongside the rest of the world, thus saving Hastur’s family. The deal was that, one day in an unimaginable future, when Hastur would have met the bearer of the Pale Mask, he will give him Nyarlathotep’s yellow mark, sanctioning the reunion of Carcosa and the palace of Ythill, restoring the world and opening the way to the Great Old Ones once again…
