The Little King first appeared in the New Yorker in 1931 and started appearing in newspaper comics in 1933. He made several animated appearances, and started appearing in King Features Syndicate in 1934. He appeared in King Comics with Popeye and in several issues of Four Color comics by Dell in the 1950’s. The character continued to run in newspapers until Soglow’s death in 1975.
The Little King earned his creator the Reuben Award in 1966.
