After the chief at his newspaper gives reporter Scoop Cody an assignment to discover the whereabouts of the police fugitive and gang boss, King Carr, he soon finds himself in the clutches of Carr’s thugs. A masked man shows up to save Cody’s life, the disguised figure leaving his calling card with the word MARVEL printed on it before disappearing. Later, Cody tracks Carr to a power station, where the reporter is once more captured by Carr and his gang. An electrician by trade, King Carr is about to electrocute Scoop. The reporter is once more saved by The Marvel.
Throughout The Marvel stories in Blue Ribbon Comics, the identity of The Marvel is promised to be revealed in the next issue. It never was revealed. It is strongly inferred to be Scoop Cody’s boss at the newspaper.
