Origin
The People Eater was originally known as the Fat Man and was a prisoner of Immortan Joe. He was spared his life after giving up information about a location known as the Citadel, a supposed fortified base which was filled with a water supply that would last several lifetimes. When the information that he granted was proven to be correct he was accepted into Immortan Joe’s band of raiders and was promoted to the Mayor status of a nearby location known as Gas Town.
Creation
The People Eater was created by George Miller. He was first seen in the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road.
Character Evolution
Originally the People Eater was a man given no respect; a prisoner of Immortan Joe’s. His intellect; however, saved him and granted him a position among the higher ups. His relationship with Immortan Joe is shaky, he views him more as a business partner than a friend.
In the film, Fury Road, he is shown to be very cold and calculating, constantly moving numbers around in his head to see how much of a profit or loss he is taking.
Major Story Arcs
The Fall & Siege
The People Eater was a target and captive of Immortan Joe’s band of raiders. He gave Immortan Joe the knowledge of the Citadel and was promoted because of this. He became the Mayor of Gas Town and worked alongside Immortan Joe and Major Kalashnikov to rule their sector of the wasteland and patrol Fury Road.
Fury Road
During the events of Fury Road he is contacted by Immortan Joe to help him track down Imperator Furiosa. He was unimpressed by the actions of the War Boys and the losses to their numbers and their profits, constantly mentioning how much certain things such as vehicles and fuel cost.
The People Eater ended up killing one of the Many Mothers by running her over; however, he was then killed by Immortan Joe after Max uses him as a human shield.
