Origin
Timid schoolteacher Olaf Larsen discovered an ancient Viking helmet once worn by his ancestor, Larsen the Liberator, which granted those of his bloodline superhuman powers. Donning it, he was transformed into a superhumanly strong Viking warrior, the Phantom Viking, but he would lose his powers when the South Wind blew.
Creation
The Phantom Viking debuted in Champion and appeared throughout that title’s run. He survived Champion’s merger into Lion, and continued for a couple more years in his new home.
