Origin
The Skull’s men were successful in capturing a US Naval torpedo boat, but it was destroyed by Lt. Drake of Naval Intelligence. It was assumed that The Skull, who was presumably on board the vessel, died in the explosion.
Creation
The Skull appeared exactly one year before the appearance of Captain America‘s skull-faced foe, The Red Skull at Timely Comics.
