James Bolivar diGriz. a.k.a. the Stainless Steel Rat, is an interstellar thief turned secret agent in humanity’s far future.
Creation
Con man, thief and loveable rogue, futuristic anti-hero Jim DiGriz was created by author Harry Harrison for the first Stainless Steel Rat novel. Kelvin Gosnell wrote and Carlos Ezquerra drew adaptions for 2000AD.
Character Development
In a high tech future James DiGriz is a master criminal, until he was recruited into the Special Corps.
His first mission for the Corps saw him pursuing a psychotic killer called Angelina, who diGriz ultimately fell in love with. After she was captured and underwent psycho-surgery, they were married, and she gave birth to twin sons, James and Bolivar.
