Thiago was a gladiator in the “Arena”, a street-fighting ring for mutants in Rio de Janeiro. He lost his last match spectacularly when his opponent Juliana Jararaca, caused his head to explode. This horrific scene cause Cable to try and bring the Arena to a close.
