The Swarm was kidnapped to experiment on three groups of insects that were exhibiting similar intelligence patterns to the hive of killer bees he bonded to. He was able to give them the organizational skills to keep a human form, but without a man’s mind guiding it, they gave in to instinct and were easily manipulated by their master and Swarm’s captor, Macrothrax.
