“Thunderbolt”

Biography

On a parallel world where Peter Cannon aka Thunderbolt existed as one of several adventurers, a superbeing called Nucleon was born, as the only superpowered being. The existence of Nucleon was a source of concern for Cannon who understood than this change in the balance of powers could be dangerous. Also as he saw than superhumanity was posible, Cannon consulted in his ancient scrolls searching a way to reach that level of power and found it. However Nucleon discovered the works of Cannon and tried to stop him. The battle between this two superpowers caused the death of all life on earth, even if Cannon was the winner of the duel.

Concerned to think than this could happen again in other worlds, Cannon developted a plan to simulate alien invasions to parallel worlds, to see if these worlds would choose to unite against the common enemy or if they would be destroyed by their own weakness.

Only one world passed the test, one world with its own version of Peter Cannon aka Thunderbolt. And he knew who was the real person behind the invasion.

Background

In the Watch storyline, this version of Peter Cannon aka “Thunderbolt” is a direct call back to the character ofthe series Watchmen, Ozymandias, a character inspired in Thunderbolt himself. His plan to invade other worlds with fake alien invaders, the use of a base in a cold climate and the clothes who are similar to the ones used in the Ozymandias character in the Watchmen movie are references to the character. This version of Peter Cannon represents a deconstruction to the themes and ideas present in Watchmen.
