Origin
Tibor started out as millionaire Gary Swanson who on crashing in the jungle loses his memory and instead of dying finds he has a remarkable facility for surviving in the wild.
Before long he is living in a hut with a gorilla named Kerak and two little monkeys Pip and Pop, whose main purpose in life seems to be to annoy Kerak.
After a time Tibor regains his memory but finding he has settled into his new jungle life he decides to abandon his old life and remain Tibor.
Creators
Tibor came about when licensing problems came about with another jungle lord character called Akim.
Hansrudi Wäscher, who at the time was both writing and drawing Akim came up with Tibor and carried on with that character until the problems with Akim were cleared up.
While Akim appeared in Italy German and Switzerland, Tibor appeared only in Germany and Netherlands.
