When the Silver Surfer and Galactus visited Tinac’s planet they were the first time his people learned they were not alone in the universe. But the coming of Galactus meant doom. Tinac was aboard a space station when the planet was destroyed. He joined and eventually leads the Intergalactic Coalition of Survivors. He has a great hatred for the Silver Surfer for leading Galactus to his world.
The Coalition eventually catch up with the Surfer and find him guilty of his crimes and sentence him to death. With the entire armada’s power draining quickly and the possibility of being stranded, Tinac’s hate make him continue in an attempt to kill the Surfer. The Surfer was unharmed and they remained stranded.
Instead of living peacefully and helping the Karidians, Tinac did the opposite. He created a doomsday device and threatened to destroy them. Eventually they captured a Karidian warrior and forced him into becoming a weapon for the Coalition. They named him Bounty. If he did not succeed in killing the Surfer, destruction would come to his race.
The Surfer defeated Bounty and returned to the planet. Tinac was still obsessed with the Surfer’s death and his companion Rodor knocked him out and took command of the Coalition from him.

In his first appearance, Tinac was pink skinned. He is shown later as blue skinned.
