Major Story Arcs

When Tony hears that Jerry is getting married he hurries to Apple City to join in the festivities. Unbeknownst to Tony he bumps into Jerry’s fiance Drusilla and the two share a moment. Jerry gets stood up at the alter and Tony goes back home without ever meeting Jerry’s fiance.

Tony gets an idea to shame Jerry’s fiance by wooing her and then standing her up at the alter. He goes back to Apple City and finds Drusilla. He is surprised to see that it is the same girl he shared that moment with before. No matter, as he rushes the relationship and makes Drusilla fall madly in love with him. He convinces her to marry him.

Two days before the wedding Jerry kills himself. Tony is so grieved that he confronts Drusilla about it all and breaks up with her. He informs her that he meant to break her heart but he just can’t bring himself to do it anymore. He intends on leaving but finds a letter written Betty Jones, Jerry’s girl-on-the-side that explains how Jerry had been playing Drusilla all along. Tony goes to the chapel on the day of their marriage and is elated that Drusilla still shows up. They get married.
