Hartly accompanies Ty-Gor’s Uncle Gorman into the Malaysian jungle to search for Ty-Gor.
After hiring a guide from the friendly Mumatras tribe, the pair sets out, unbeknownst that Ty-Gor and Malma are watching them every step of the way. Hartly forces the Mumatra guide and leaves the uncle to the mercies of carnivorous red ants. Hartly hires more Mumatras to chase Ty-gory down, yet the jungle boy uses a trick to frighten the superstitious tribesmen away. He overcomes Hartly. Ty-Gor’s uncle escorts Hartly to civilization, promising Ty-Gor that he would return. Ty-Gor does not understand what the uncle said.
