The main competitor of Dr. Mirra Martin, Tyberious Spydre did not share her qualms about using the technology he developed for military purposes and he developed the Arach-Droid SV9000. Unfortunately for him, it malfunctioned at the technology show and Mirra saved the crowd using her solid-light technology. When she later refused to share it when she heard they intended to turn it into a weapon, one of them turned to Tyberious and told him to acquire it. He dispatched his creation to steal it, but Styler managed to destroy and then did the same to the solid-light projections to protect them. Unfortunately, Tyberious’s daughter, Emily, had ended up picking one of Styler’s discs at school and he now had the technology.
