Ucky is the creation of artist Joe Benitez and colorist Peter Steigerwald. He first appeared, and then died, in Lady Mechanika #0.
Demon of Satan’s Alley
Ucky was the unfortunate creature that was spotted in Satan’s Alley of Mechanika City and had been dubbed, “The Demon of Satan’s Alley”. He had been the feature story of the tabloids and every gun slinging citizen was on the watch for any appearances of this mysterious creature.
This creature got the attention of Lady Mechanika herself but it also got the attention of Lord Blackpool and Blackpool Armaments, a weapons manufacturer. Both parties are interested in Ucky because of the eyewitness report that he claimed he was half machine. Blackpool Armaments was interested in the creature so that they could find some way of turning its tech into weapons. Lady Mechanika had a more personal reason for finding Ucky and that because she too was also half machine.
Ucky and Lady Mechanika: Old Friends
Lady Mechanika beat Blackpool Armaments in the race to find Ucky. She shot Ucky with a tranquilizer; a dart coated with a soporific to make him go to sleep. The pair fought briefly until Ucky finally began to speak: much to the amazement of Lady Mechanika. Ucky told Lady Mechanika he was hungry and that is why he was running around Satan’s Alley. The two of them began to talk about Ucky’s master.
His master was the one who created him. Ucky said that his master forgot him and left him behind.Ucky told Lady Mechanika that he remembered her and that he had not seen her in a very long time. He also told her that she was the one who actually named him. Ucky said that Lady Mechanika was his master’s favorite.
Blackpool Armaments
Before Lady Mechanika could ask Ucky any more questions about his mysterious master, Blackpool Armaments showed up and killed Ucky. This angered Lady Mechanika greatly and she defeated Lord Blackpool’s goons quickly. Before Lord Blackpool could escape, Lady Mechanika shot him in the knee and kicked his jaw, nearly severing it from his face. Lady Mechanika then carried Ucky’s body away, leaving Lord Blackpool in a pool of his own blood.
