Unos

Unos was the Regent of Phalkar and king of his Temple of Judgement. Conan the Barbarian would come to the Temple of Judgement to grant Unos a rare gift called a Golden Pol-Bird. The Golden Pol-Bird had three eyes and told Unos that two men in his court had killed the former regent but the daughter named Stefanya still lived and would one day take the throne. The wizard in his court named Elviriom wanted the guards to kill the bird but Unos spared the bird and let Conan leave since the bird opened his eyes to the truth. Unos would leave the temple to seek Conan and his companion, Samandra. Unos wanted to learn more of his past so Samandra agreed to help him. Samandra would cast a spell and summon Belthamquar, the Father of Demons and Thelonia, the Mother of Demons. They told Unos that he was their offspring and he had powers yet undiscovered. Unos would kill Samandra with a dagger and come after Conan who was retrieving Stefanya. Unos found Conan and struck him with an eye beam that stripped his flesh away until nothing but a skeleton remained. However, Conan’s flesh reemerged because he was saved by the Blue-Fire Amulet he was wearing around his neck. After a brief battle, Conan placed Unos in a bear hug and the Regent of Phalkar died when the magical amulet touched his chest.

Creation

Unos was created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema in 1975 and first appeared in Conan the Barbarian # 50.

Powers & Abilities

Unos was the offspring of two demons and granted various magical abilities. Unos could fire a beam of light from his eyes that would strip the flesh of his enemy. Unos also demonstrated some telekinetic abilities and used his magic to create tendrils from the ground to ensnare his foes.
